| Årdal is divided in two towns. Årdalstangen and Øvre Årdal with mountains situated around. In the middle is a lake called Årdalsvatnet. It takes four hours to drive from Bergen by car, which is the nearest for tourist when coming to Norway by plane. Årdal area is self sufficient in many areas of service: hospital, culture, shopping, schools and cinema. |

| The lake and mountains arround Årdal area give pleasant potensial to create new activities. Lake has been used by boats to deliver factory- materials and its two meters above the sea. Årdal is important industryal community. It generates the import and export through Alluminiumsverket, and out the world. |
