| ÅRDAL |
| Today mainly an industrial area build up on waterpower, situated in the inner part of Sognefjord. The very structured industry and building area are surrounded by a spectacular contrastful nature. |
I have chosen to work at the already existing centre of Øvre Årdal. Where I have been looking for a way of bringing in this soft , flowing and reflective structure I discovered in my DAV |

Colourscheme in Øvre Årdal |
The aim is to bring in some of the contrast and diversity you find in the surrounding in to the centre of Øvre Årdal. Using light as an ever changing material which flows around the very structured and static buildings and areas you find in Årdal |

| Moving the traffic out of the centre, Here placed higher so you can get a view of the area as you enter |
First approach was to clearify and intensifying whats there. Like here making the entrance to the centre tighter before you come into a more open area |
| |
Intensifying and bring in more light. |
would like a changing value of light. Moving through lighter to darker areas. |
Better flow of the traffic. Making different moving circles |
| Strengthen the feel of the shopping area. Use materials and forms which diffuse light |
| Social encounters. Place where people can meet and do things together |
Playfields for smaller children. Birch trees stretches up to the sky. Can be used to include the big houses with flats. Hammocks in trees. Whats on the ground means a lot. Things to climb on, jump, run between, feel ,touch. |

| The water has always been a basic resource for Årdal and I like to use basic material. Material you find in the nature and gives more variety in texture as it grows old |
| Using the trees which exist bringing in furu to get a milder appearance and green all year. Football. Place can include skating during the winter period |

| Different ways of reflecting and diffusing light and how gray days diffuse the light so much there is no shadow. The colour and light properties get here very important. |
