Large, Complicated, Energy Efficient New Buildings and the refurbishment of similar Existing Buildings
Course for the 4th and 5th class students Autumn –07
The Architects role is essensial when it comes to reduce the energy needs in buildings.
Mostly these matters are solved when the architect are drawing the first sketches. The aim for this course is to increase the knowledge and awarness regarding each of the conditions that are important when it comes to the goal of reduceing the energy uses and CO2 waste. The students has been abroad on field trips and looking at different examples on energy efficient buildings, and done exercises making new type of buildings. (Barcode, Bjørvika, Oslo, Europas most energy efficient building for comercial purpose competition revisited) and to refurbish existing buildings (Buckingham Palace, London) tru working with these projects they have been given new tools for shaping buildings and making them able to be architects drawing buildings that are almost self efficient with energy.
